The following are the events planned for the Kovai Rainbow Festival. Mark your calender folks!

• August 6th in the Press meet we released the postcards 'Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness'
• August 17th - Love and Equality - Lets talk unspoken love. An open discussion forum on love, mariage and relationships of the LGBT community and the release of book 'Kaadhal Neethi' authored by transgender rights activist Priyababu.
• August 26th - Kovai Rainbow Film Festival - Short documentaries on LGB issues and premiere screening of short documentary films made by transgender women of Sahodari team
• Two Radio shows planned (dates will be announced shortly)
• August 27th - Kovai Rainbow Parade

Kovai Rainbow Festival - கோவை வானவில் விழா

It is important that the LGBT community in the small cities, towns, and villages feel proud about their sexual orientation and gender identities.  This will provide them space to come out and network. Pride celebrations help the LGBT community is so many ways. For example, the lesser known rural LGBT community activists work with as much dedication and commitment as the urban LGBT community in advancing towards our cause for equality and non discrimination,. In that context and need, celebrating pride month in small cities and towns across India is of utmost importance. I am happy and proud that I have taken this initiative to celebrate Kovai Pride. To begin with we will celebrate Kovai Rianbow Festival in Coimbatore.

Kovai Rainbow Festival will be celebrated throughout August 2010 in the city of Coimbatore.

உலகம் முழுவதும் பாலியல் சிறுபான்மையினர் பெருமைமிகு மாதம் என்ற ஒன்றை கொண்டாடுவர். முதன்முறையாக கோவையிலும் அத்தகைய ஒரு விழாவை சகோதரி அமைப்பு மற்ற அமைப்புகளுடன் சேர்ந்துகொண்டாடுகிறது.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் மட்டுமே திருநங்கைகள் சமூக அங்கீகாரம் என்பது மற்ற எந்த மாநிலங்களைக்காட்டிலும் மிக உயர்வாக உள்ளது. தமிழக அரசு திருநங்கைகளுக்காக ஒரு நல வாரியம் அமைத்து பல்வேறு நலத்திட்டங்களை செயல்படுத்தி வருகிறது. இவற்றால் அனைத்து திருநங்கைகளும் பயனடையவேண்டும். கோவை வானவில் விழா திருநங்கைகள் தங்களின் அடையாளங்களை மகிழ்ச்சியோடு கொண்டாடும் விழா.

திருநங்கைகள் மட்டுமின்றி தன்பால் விழைவு மற்றும் இருபால் விழைவு கொண்டவர்களும் தங்களுடைய அடையாளங்களை பெருமையோடு பறைசாற்றும் விழா கோவை வானவில் விழா. ஆகஸ்ட் 2010ம் ஆண்டு இவ்விழா கோவையிலும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
